Study of trial and death of Socrates by examining its relevance today to legal treatment of dissent and civil disobedience in the U.S. and to variety of contemporary theories and strategies of dissent. Introduction to Greek legal system, values that animated that system, and new ways to think about roles of law. P/NP or letter grading.
