Global Threads: Fashion and the Politics of Representation
Lecture, four hours; discussion, one hour. Interdisciplinary exploration of global dress and fashion as cultural texts. Examination of identity, representation, labor, sustainability, and decolonial perspectives across regions such as Korea, India, Africa and the African diaspora, and the Muslim world through lectures, case studies, and curated media. Letter grading.
