COMPARATIVE LITERATURE POLICY FOR ATTENDANCE AND LATE ENROLLMENT IN ALL 2W AND 4W CLASSES: The department will cancel your enrollment in any Comparative Literature 2W and 4W class if you do not attend at least one of the first two class meetings. After the first week of classes, wait-listed students may enroll in Comparative Literature 2W and 4W classes only with permission to enroll obtained from the instructor. Enrollment in some upper-division courses is restricted to Comparative Literature majors and minors during the first enrollment pass. Students in other majors who meet the course requisites may enroll during second pass, space permitting. Seats are held for entering students who enroll through New Student Orientation sessions beginning July 2, 2026. New student restrictions will be lifted on September 15, 2026 at 8 a.m.

The limit lifts into a request, not an open seat: after that date you may ask the instructor, and it is theirs to grant. Dibs still lists the class, but an open count here is not a seat you can simply take.

What students say

Dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.

Enrollment over time

A dot is a reading where something moved: the seat count, the status, or the waitlist. The last one is the most recent sweep, moved or not. The line holds flat between dots because that is what the readings say: it did not drift, it held and then jumped. The ticks along the bottom are the hours Dibs recorded reading this section, which is how a flat run says "checked, unchanged" rather than "nobody looked". It only keeps those from 25 August, so the ruler is shorter than the line for now. Both start when Dibs did rather than reaching back before it existed.
