checks prerequisites against your saved courses; grade-specific checks need a signed-in import;
marks what you have already passed on every GE category page, so Filler classes can leave those out and offer you something that counts.

The PDF is not retained for ordinary imports. Review what dibs reads before confirming. Confirmed courses are kept in this browser; requirements are kept on dibs for up to 180 days. The review screen also offers a session-only option that does not keep your requirements. Storage details below.

What happens to the file

The PDF is processed temporarily and discarded after an ordinary import. Only an explicit optional contribution keeps a separate encrypted copy for human import-accuracy review.
Your name and your UCLA ID are not read at all: the parser skips them. If you optionally contribute the PDF, those details remain visible in that copy to authorized reviewers.
No courses or requirements are added until you review the list and confirm. An optional contribution is retained when you press Read my audit, independently of confirming the import.
When signed in, the letter grade is kept with each course, because a prerequisite that demands a C has to be able to refuse a D. Saved grades also support your science GPA estimate and planning tools when you use them.
What dibs reads from the audit is the courses and their grades, your major, your college, your admit and catalog terms, and each outstanding requirement including every line the audit printed inside it, word for word: the NEEDS row, any condition in brackets beneath the name, and the coursework already counted toward it. dibs can then show you its source rather than ask you to trust its reading.
Signed out, it does not all stay in your browser. Your courses go to a cookie on this device. Your requirements and your major go to a row on dibs' server, which is deleted after 180 days, and you can delete it yourself at any time from what you still need.
There is an option on the next screen to use the audit without storing any of it. Your courses go to a cookie your browser deletes when you close it, no row is written on dibs' server, and your requirement list is not kept at all.
