Research Group Seminars: Issues in Human Geography

Fall 2026Potts, S.S.1 unit

dibs reads this section's seats hourly, like everything else, but it does not send alerts for graduate courses yet.

Seats, time, final and grades

Seats

Open, 4 seats left.

26 of 30 enrolled.

Meets

Final

None on the page dibs read

No exam time on the page dibs read. That is not the registrar saying there is no final.

Grades

no grade history

No grade record for this section yet.

Put this class on a board

A board is one quarter you are drafting, so it needs an account to live in. Signing in brings you straight back to this page, with this class still in front of you.

Before you can enroll

Registrar's Restrictions cell, read 3 days ago: "Graduate Geography Majors".

From the registrar

The department will cancel your enrollment if you do not attend at least one of the first two class meetings (for classes that meet two days each week), or the first class meeting (for classes that meet one day each week). Enrollment after the second day of class for classes that meet two days a week or the first day of class for classes that meet one day a week is not allowed. No exceptions. Geography 7 and 180 thru 187 are limited to Geography majors; Geography and Geospatial Informational System and Technologies minors; Environment and Sustainability majors; and Environmental Science majors on the first enrollment pass. Geography 100 thru 179 are limited to departmental majors and minors on the first enrollment pass. Non-majors may enroll in Geogrpahy 7, 100 thru 176, and 183 thru 187 on the second pass (space permitting), and in Geography 180 thru 182C beginning one week after second pass begins (space permitting).

Restrictions read 3 days ago. dibs re-reads these slowly because they rarely change, and it does not sweep graduate courses at all, so this one has no faster cadence to move to. Check the registrar.

What students say

dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.

dibs has not read this course’s reviews, so it cannot say what kind of work it sets. That is dibs not having looked. It is not a course without papers or exams, and the reviews linked below are the answer until dibs catches up.

Will it still be here

Not a question any more: see the notice at the top of this page.

dibs read 168 of the 555 hours its hourly record covers, 30%, and did not look in 387. dibs had no hourly record before 8 Sep, which is the other 532 of 1087 plotted.26 of 30 enrolled at the newest reading, 4 hours ago, with 4 left. Seats from 17 Aug 15:07 to 1 Oct 21:22, 8 to 26. dibs read 168 of the 555 hours its hourly record here covers, 30%. An hour marked as read confirms a check, not continuous monitoring. That check recorded no change; changes between checks may be missed. For 387 hours dibs was keeping a record and did not reach this section. Nothing before 8 September at 19:00, where this section's record starts, has a read either way, which is 532 hours of this window. Where the drawing is faint or broken, that never means the readings are doubtful. It means the stretch between them is unaccounted for.

A dot is a reading where something moved: the seat count, the status, or the waitlist. Flat between dots joins recorded counts; changes between reads may be missed. The line starts when dibs first saw this section rather than reaching back before it existed. The last one is the last time dibs read this section, moved or not, and that was 4 hours ago. It is where the line stops, not where the count is now.

How readings and alerts work

A reading and an hourly record are different things, and most charts here hold more of the second missing than present. dibs has taken readings of a section since long before it began keeping an hour-by-hour log of when it looked, so the empty stretches are dibs saying it was not keeping that log yet, not that it looked and found nothing. That is the age of the record and not a fault.

Seat counts show the last successful read, not live availability. Refreshes can be delayed by request limits or upstream interruptions. Watched sections receive priority, but an hourly update for every section is not guaranteed.

The registrar can change a seat count between our checks. Alerts depend on dibs detecting an opening and completing delivery; a quiet watch does not prove that no seat opened. Check the registrar before enrolling.
