ENVIRON M1A · Dis 1A
Food: Lens for Environment and Sustainability
Also listed as CLUSTER M1A (closed, 221 of 221 enrolled, standing limit): the same class, and each department holds its own seats and its own grade history.
Seats, time, final and grades
Seats
Closed by the department.
The department has not published seat counts for this class.
Its lecture reads closed by the department (-): you attend both, so this seat is not one you can take while that holds. There is no waitlist either, so the only way in is somebody dropping the lecture.
Meets
T 2:00pm-3:50pm
This discussion only. You also attend Lec 1.
Final
Fri 11 Dec, 11:30am to 2:30pm
One exam for the whole class, Los Angeles time.

Grades
no grade history
No grade record for this section yet.
Read 25 minutes ago. This is a recent reading, not a live seat count.
Watching is the one thing here that needs an account, because an alert needs somewhere to go. Everything else on this page works signed out.
Put this class on a board
A board is one quarter you are drafting, so it needs an account to live in. Signing in brings you straight back to this page, with this class still in front of you.
Before you can enroll

From the registrar
Upon satisfactorily completing Clusters M1A, M1B, and M1CW, students receive credit for the following requirements: one Social Analysis GE, one Life Sciences with lab GE, and one Physical Sciences with lab GE. In addition, students receive credit for one additional GE of their choice (Historical Analysis or Social Analysis or Life Sciences without lab or Physical Sciences without lab). Upon satisfactorily completing Clusters M1A, M1B, and M1CW, students will fulfill the Writing II requirement. Students must receive a grade of D- or better each quarter to receive general education credit and continue in the course. To receive credit for Writing II, students must satisfy Writing I by the end of the year, successfully complete fall and winter quarters, and earn a grade of C or better in spring quarter. For a complete summary of clusters credits, see https://www.uei.ucla.edu/academic-programs/ucla-cluster-program/benefits .

What students say
dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.
What the work looks like
- Quizzes mentioned, no number given, said by 3 reviewers
- 1 paper, said by 1 reviewer
- Labs mentioned, no number given, said by 1 reviewer
Read from 8 reviews about 1 month ago. dibs counts only what a review actually states, so a kind of work nobody mentioned is absent rather than zero.
Will it still be here
no history chance of closing before your enrollment pass.
The department has not published seat counts for this class, so there is nothing to plot. dibs records when it read the class, not a count it was never given. Last read 1 Oct 20:52.
How readings and alerts work
A reading and an hourly record are different things, and most charts here hold more of the second missing than present. dibs has taken readings of a section since long before it began keeping an hour-by-hour log of when it looked, so the empty stretches are dibs saying it was not keeping that log yet, not that it looked and found nothing. That is the age of the record and not a fault.
Seat counts show the last successful read, not live availability. Refreshes can be delayed by request limits or upstream interruptions. Watched sections receive priority, but an hourly update for every section is not guaranteed.
The registrar can change a seat count between our checks. Alerts depend on dibs detecting an opening and completing delivery; a quiet watch does not prove that no seat opened. Check the registrar before enrolling.
Class chat
Nobody on dibs watches this class or has it on a plan yet. Nobody has posted yet.
Dis 1A shares one room with Lec 1 and every other discussion under it, because that is what a student means by "my class".
Reading a room needs no account. Posting does, and it is free.
