Research for and Preparation of PhD Dissertation
dibs reads this section's seats hourly, like everything else, but it does not send alerts for graduate courses yet.
Seats, time, final and grades
Seats
Open, 10 seats left.
0 of 10 enrolled.
Read 73 minutes ago. This is a recent reading, not a live seat count.

Time TBA
Every meeting the registrar lists for this section.
Final
Exam time unavailable
No exam time is listed in the available section details. Check the registrar or current syllabus; this does not mean there is no final.
Grades
Put this class on a board
A board is one quarter you are drafting, so it needs an account to live in. Signing in brings you straight back to this page, with this class still in front of you.
Before you can enroll
Registrar's Restrictions cell, read 8 days ago: "Graduate Political Science Majors".
From the registrar enrollment limit
Enrollment is limited to Political Science pre-majors and majors on the priority enrollment pass. Enrollment in upper-division courses is limited to Political Science majors on the first enrollment pass. Political Science pre-majors and majors may enroll on the second pass. Any student may enroll beginning June 31, 2026.
This limit ends at an enrollment pass rather than on a date, and dibs does not hold the date second pass opens for Fall 2026, so it cannot say whether that pass has come. When it does, the registrar writes who may enroll then as “Political Science pre-majors and majors may enroll on the second pass.” So dibs cannot tell whether this class is open to you today, and it is not counting it as one you can take: your enrollment appointment on MyUCLA is what settles it. This class is also Graduate Political Science Majors, which the pass does not lift.
Restrictions checked 8 days ago and may be outdated. Seat alerts are unavailable for this course. Check the registrar.
When it meets

What students say
dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.
What the work looks like
- Exams mentioned, no number given, 1 mention in past reviews
- 4 quizzes, 1 mention in past reviews
- 1 paper, 2 mentions in past reviews
- 1 presentation, 1 mention in past reviews
Based on 16 reviews; source checked 5 days ago. dibs counts only what a review actually states, so a kind of work nobody mentioned is absent rather than zero.
Will it still be here
Not a question any more: see the notice at the top of this page.
Seats over time
Unchanged over about 2 months
Both readings say 0 of 10.
A dot is a reading. Recorded enrollment counts match, so the line is flat across the whole window: it says when dibs looked rather than what changed. The last dot is the last time dibs read this section, moved or not: 73 minutes ago.

How readings and alerts work
Dated seat counts can be available even when hourly check history is missing. Gaps do not show whether seats changed between observations.
Seat counts show the last successful read, not live availability. Refreshes can be delayed by request limits or upstream interruptions. Watched sections receive priority, but an hourly update for every section is not guaranteed.
The registrar can change a seat count between our checks. Alerts depend on dibs detecting an opening and completing delivery; a quiet watch does not prove that no seat opened. Check the registrar before enrolling.
