Seats are held for entering students who enroll through New Student Orientation sessions beginning July 2, 2026. New student restrictions will be lifted on September 15, 2026 at 8 a.m. Enrollment is limited to junior/senior Marine Biology majors on the priority and first enrollment passes. Departmental majors may enroll on the second pass. Any student meeting the requisites may enroll beginning July 1, 2026 at 8 a.m., space permitting. Due to the curriculum of this laboratory course, enrollment will be closed by 3 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026. There will be one two-day weekend field trip planned during the quarter. The specific weekend will be announced at the beginning of the quarter.
The limit applies to the earlier enrollment pass. Dibs still counts this class as one you can take, because it opens up, but on first pass it may not be yours yet. This class is also Biology; Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution; or Marine Biologymajors; or Conservation Biology or Evolutionary Medicine Minors, and New Transfers Only, which the pass does not lift.

What students say
Dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.
Enrollment over time
A dot is a reading where something moved: the seat count, the status, or the waitlist. The last one is the most recent sweep, moved or not. The line holds flat between dots because that is what the readings say: it did not drift, it held and then jumped. The ticks along the bottom are the hours Dibs recorded reading this section, which is how a flat run says "checked, unchanged" rather than "nobody looked". It only keeps those from 25 August, so the ruler is shorter than the line for now. Both start when Dibs did rather than reaching back before it existed.
