From the registrar limited to

History 97A through 188 are limited to History pre-majors, majors, and minors on the priority and first enrollment passes. Any student may enroll on second pass, space permitting. Nonmajors may enroll in History 97 and upper-division history courses (except those in the 191 series) on the second pass. History 191 seminars are limited to declared junior/senior History majors, who may enroll on the second pass. After July 2, 2026, some lower-division and upper-division seats are limited to students attending New Student Orientation sessions. All limitations are removed September 15, 2026. Seats are held for entering students who enroll through New Student Orientation sessions beginning July 2, 2026. New student restrictions will be lifted on September 15, 2026 at 8 a.m.

The limit applies to the earlier enrollment pass. Dibs still counts this class as one you can take, because it opens up, but on first pass it may not be yours yet. This class is also History Major, Premajor, or Minor or History of Science, Technology and Medicine Minors, and New Transfers Only, which the pass does not lift.

What students say

Dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.

Enrollment over time

A dot is a reading where something moved: the seat count, the status, or the waitlist. The last one is the most recent sweep, moved or not. The line holds flat between dots because that is what the readings say: it did not drift, it held and then jumped. The ticks along the bottom are the hours Dibs recorded reading this section, which is how a flat run says "checked, unchanged" rather than "nobody looked". It only keeps those from 25 August, so the ruler is shorter than the line for now. Both start when Dibs did rather than reaching back before it existed.
