From the registrar limited early, then open
History 97A through 188 are limited to History pre-majors, majors, and minors on the priority and first enrollment passes. Any student may enroll on second pass, space permitting. Nonmajors may enroll in History 97 and upper-division history courses (except those in the 191 series) on the second pass. History 191 seminars are limited to declared junior/senior History majors, who may enroll on the second pass. After July 2, 2026, some lower-division and upper-division seats are limited to students attending New Student Orientation sessions. All limitations are removed September 15, 2026.
The note says this limit ends, without saying when. Dibs still counts this class as one you can take; check the registrar before planning around it. This class is also Petition/Contract Required, which the note does not lift.

What students say
Dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast it fills. For what the class is actually like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.
Enrollment over time
The department has not published seat counts for this class, so there is nothing to plot. Dibs records when it read the class, not a count it was never given. Last read 29 Aug 09:41.
