You are looking at Fall 2025. That term is over, so these are last term's numbers rather than seats you can take. dibs holds 1,964 sections for Fall 2025, read about 1 month ago. What comes first

The chain dibs can see is 3 courses long before BIOENGR M184. Read from Fall 2026, because dibs has not read a class page for BIOENGR M184 in Fall 2025 and a department can change what it requires. This is a floor, not a deadline: dibs has not read a class page for C&EE M20, LIFESCI 30B, MATH 3B, and MECH&AE M20, so the real chain can only be longer than this, never shorter.

Counted in courses rather than quarters: dibs does not know which of them a department lets you take together.

From the registrar's catalog

(Same as Computational and Systems Biology M184 and Computer Science M184.) Lecture, two hours; outside study, four hours. Enforced requisites: one course from Civil Engineering M20, Computer Science 31, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering M20, or Program in Computing 10A; and Life Sciences 30B or Mathematics 3B or 31B. Survey course designed to introduce students to computational and systems modeling and computation in biology and medicine, providing motivation, flavor, culture, and cutting-edge contributions in computational biosciences and aiming for more informed basis for focused studies by students with computational and systems biology interests. Presentations by individual UCLA researchers discussing their active computational and systems biology research. P/NP grading.
