Lecture, four hours. Introduction to naval engineering, with emphasis on steam, nuclear, diesel, and gas turbine propulsion systems and their associated auxiliary components. Basic thermodynamic theory, electrical theory, stability, and buoyancy. P/NP or letter grading.
