The registrar's own records: 118 grades over 3 terms, Fall 2021 to Fall 2025. Every instructor is pooled here.

What is inside that record

No summer session is in that record.

The table below splits them, and term averages across those 3 terms ran 3.33 to 3.53.

Historical grades for all professors, across recorded terms. The course summary above includes all professors.

  • A 36 · 30.5%
  • A- 31 · 26.3%
  • B+ 25 · 21.2%
  • B 11 · 9.3%
  • B- 6 · 5.1%
  • C+ 3 · 2.5%
  • C 3 · 2.5%
  • D 1 · 0.8%
  • D- 1 · 0.8%
  • F 1 · 0.8%
  • P 10 of 131
  • NP 2 of 131
  • I 1 of 131

Percentages are of the 118 letter grades. Grey bars are non-letter outcomes: passes (P), no-passes (NP), and incompletes (I).

How the non-letter outcomes are counted

They are excluded from the GPA entirely rather than scored, because counting a P as a 4.0 would be a fabrication.

By instructor

Predicted GPA, raw average, sample size, terms, A range and the workload reviewers reported for every instructor with a grade record in this course
Instructor Predicted GPA Raw n Terms A range Workload Spring 2027
RAJAGOPAL, DEEPAK reviews ↗ 3.44 3.43 118 3 57% light not teaching it
Why Predicted is not the Raw average

“Predicted” is shrunk toward the course average, which is itself shrunk toward the department, so an instructor with a handful of students sits near the course mean rather than topping the list.

Grade records describe outcomes. For what a course is like to take, read student reviews written on dibs below or follow the separate external review link.

What comes first

The chain dibs can see is 3 courses long before ENVIRON C159. Read from Fall 2026, because dibs has not read a class page for ENVIRON C159 in Spring 2027 and a department can change what it requires. This is a floor, not a deadline: dibs has not read a class page for LIFESCI 30B and MATH 3B, so the real chain can only be longer than this, never shorter.

Counted in courses rather than quarters: dibs does not know which of them a department lets you take together.

In Springs

Ran in 2 of the last 4 Springs, so it turns up in Spring sometimes rather than dependably.

From the terms dibs holds, which start in Fall 2021 and exclude summer. A department can run a course in a quarter it never has before.

From the registrar's catalog

Lecture, three hours. Requisites: Life Sciences 30A and 30B, or Mathematics 3A and 3B (or 31A and 31B). Public discourse about current patterns of production and consumption of energy, and goods and services more broadly, suggest such patterns are environmentally and economically unsustainable. Introduction to basic concept of life-cycle assessment (LCA), including analytical frameworks and quantitative techniques for systematically and holistically evaluating environmental trade-offs presented by different alternatives. Focus on methodology of LCA to compute various material inputs and environmental releases from all activities associated with life cycle (i.e., raw material extraction, processing, end use, and disposal) of products or services. Discussion of strengths and limitations of LCA as tool for decision making. Students perform life-cycle analysis of one technology, product, or service of their choice. Concurrently scheduled with course C259. P/NP or letter grading.
