You are looking at Winter 2026. That term is over, so these are last term's numbers rather than seats you can take. dibs holds 1,472 sections for Winter 2026, read about 1 month ago. Introduction to Buddhism

Sections & times

Needs a grade of C or better: C- does not count, and neither does a Passed grade.

Also listed as RELIGN M60W: the same class, and each department holds its own seats and its own grade history.

The registrar's own records: 181 grades over 4 terms, Fall 2021 to Fall 2025. Every instructor is pooled here.

What is inside that record

1 of those terms is a summer session, and summer sessions are counted here.

The table below splits them, and term averages across those 4 terms ran 3.39 to 3.83.

Historical grades for all professors, across recorded terms. The course summary above includes all professors.

  • A+ 10 · 5.5%
  • A 99 · 54.7%
  • A- 10 · 5.5%
  • B+ 32 · 17.7%
  • B 11 · 6.1%
  • B- 2 · 1.1%
  • C+ 2 · 1.1%
  • C 7 · 3.9%
  • D 1 · 0.6%
  • F 7 · 3.9%
  • P 2 of 184
  • NP 1 of 184

Percentages are of the 181 letter grades. Grey bars are non-letter outcomes: passes (P) and no-passes (NP).

How the non-letter outcomes are counted

They are excluded from the GPA entirely rather than scored, because counting a P as a 4.0 would be a fabrication.

By instructor

Predicted GPA, raw average, sample size, terms, A range and the workload reviewers reported for every instructor with a grade record in this course
Instructor Predicted GPA Raw n Terms A range Workload Winter 2026

NEWHALL, THOMAS BRADFORD reviews ↗ 3.44 3.39 31 1 71% - not teaching it
Why Predicted is not the Raw average

“Predicted” is shrunk toward the course average, which is itself shrunk toward the department, so an instructor with a handful of students sits near the course mean rather than topping the list.

Grade records describe outcomes. For what a course is like to take, read student reviews written on dibs below or follow the separate external review link.

What comes first

dibs has not read a class page for ASIAN M60W in any term it holds, so it cannot say what comes before it.

Counted in courses rather than quarters: dibs does not know which of them a department lets you take together.

In Winters

Ran in 1 of the last 4 Winters, so it turns up in Winter sometimes rather than dependably. dibs has no record of it in any quarter since Spring 2023.

From the terms dibs holds, which start in Fall 2021 and exclude summer. A department can run a course in a quarter it never has before.
