CLUSTER 2A

Building Climates

Lecture and discussion.

Fall 2026: 1 lecture and 11 discussions. 1 lecture and 6 discussions are open. The oldest of these readings was 46 minutes ago.

This is a year, not a class

Clusters run across three quarters, fall, winter, then the spring seminar, and UCLA counts the credit on completing the yearlong cluster: four GE requirements and the Writing II requirement. Signing up for the first quarter is signing up for the year.

  1. 2A: you are here
  2. 2B
  3. 2CW

Dibs only reads Fall 2026, so the later parts show no sections here: that is this term, not the sequence ending. What you keep if you take only part of a cluster is a question for the Cluster Program, not something these numbers answer.

The registrar's own records: 359 grades over 2 terms, Fall 2021 to Fall 2025, summer excluded. Every instructor is pooled here. The table below splits them, and term averages across those 2 terms ran 3.74 to 3.86.

  • A+ 30 · 8.4%
  • A 191 · 53.2%
  • A- 87 · 24.2%
  • B+ 22 · 6.1%
  • B 25 · 7.0%
  • B- 1 · 0.3%
  • C 2 · 0.6%
  • D 1 · 0.3%
  • P 3 of 362

Percentages are of the 359 letter grades. Grey bars are non-letter outcomes: passes (P). They are excluded from the GPA entirely rather than scored, because counting a P as a 4.0 would be a fabrication.

By instructor

Predicted GPA, raw average, sample size, terms, A range and the workload reviewers reported for every instructor with a grade record in this course
Instructor Predicted GPA Raw n Terms A range Workload Fall 2026
OSMAN, MICHAEL reviews ↗ 3.79 3.79 359 2 86% average Open, 48 seats left
CRAIG, SALMAAN reviews ↗ 3.79 3.79 359 2 86% - not teaching it
VASHAKMADZE, SHOTA reviews ↗ 3.75 3.74 207 1 80% - not teaching it

“Predicted” is shrunk toward the course average, which is itself shrunk toward the department, so an instructor with a handful of students sits near the course mean rather than topping the list.

dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast a class fills. For what a class is like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.

Sections in Fall 2026

You enroll in the discussion, not the lecture, so a discussion's status is the one that decides whether you get in. A lecture can read open while every discussion under it is full.

Seat counts as of : the oldest of these 12 readings. The registrar publishes hourly and dibs reads what it can each hour, so a row can be older than that.

Final enrollment, averaged across each term's sections: between 152 and 210 a term over 2 terms, summer excluded, most recently 210 in Fall 2025. That is the shape across years, not this term, which is above.
