The registrar's own records: 2,611 grades over 8 terms, Fall 2021 to Fall 2025, summer excluded. Every instructor is pooled here. The table below splits them, and term averages across those 8 terms ran 3.53 to 4.00.

  • A+ 859 · 32.9%
  • A 1,368 · 52.4%
  • A- 182 · 7.0%
  • B+ 76 · 2.9%
  • B 50 · 1.9%
  • B- 22 · 0.8%
  • C+ 14 · 0.5%
  • C 11 · 0.4%
  • C- 8 · 0.3%
  • D 4 · 0.2%
  • D- 2 · 0.1%
  • F 15 · 0.6%
  • P 2 of 2,619
  • NP 2 of 2,619
  • I 4 of 2,619

Percentages are of the 2,611 letter grades. Grey bars are non-letter outcomes: passes (P), no-passes (NP), and incompletes (I). They are excluded from the GPA entirely rather than scored, because counting a P as a 4.0 would be a fabrication.

“Predicted” is shrunk toward the course average, which is itself shrunk toward the department, so an instructor with a handful of students sits near the course mean rather than topping the list.

dibs measures outcomes: grades, seats, how fast a class fills. For what a class is like to sit in, BruinWalk has the reviews.

In Falls

Ran in 4 of the last 5 Falls.

From the terms dibs holds, which start in Fall 2021 and exclude summer. A department can run a course in a quarter it never has before.

From the registrar's catalog

Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Interdisciplinary survey of diverse historical experiences, cultural factors, and ethnic/racial paradigms, including indigenousness, gender, sexuality, language, and borders, that help shape Chicana/Chicano identities. Emphasis on critical reading and writing skills. Letter grading.

Sections in Fall 2026

You enroll in the discussion, not the lecture, so a discussion's status is the one that decides whether you get in. A lecture can read open while every discussion under it is full.

Seat counts as of : the oldest of these 24 readings. The registrar publishes hourly and dibs reads what it can each hour, so a row can be older than that.

Final enrollment, averaged across each term's sections: between 407 and 427 a term over 3 terms, summer excluded, most recently 422 in Fall 2025. That is the shape across years, not this term, which is above.
